Studies: Air pollution linked to insulin, kidney issues

Air pollution was associated with increased risk of insulin resistance in 10-year-old children, a German study in Diabetologia reports. Separately, researchers studying a population of patients being treated for acute ischemic stroke in the Boston area found that those whose homes were near major roadways had indications of reduced kidney function compared with those who lived farther away.
