Study: Cardiac imaging feasible with PET/MRI

Researchers from University Hospital Essen in Germany have found agreement in the simultaneous acquisition of FDG-PET and MR images in cases of myocardial infarction, indicating that cardiac FDG-PET/MRI is feasible for "high-quality cardiac MR imaging acquisitions," they wrote. However, there is still a need to validate the clinical relevance of the hybrid modality in ischemic heart disease cases and to determine protocols, researchers said.
