Insurance companies can continue to use credit-based insurance scores under legislation passed by the Delaware Senate. However, the legislation also adds consumer protection measures governing how insurance companies use credit information, says Richard Stokes, regional manager and counsel for the Property Casualty Insurers Association. "These regulations include some of the most stringent consumer protections in the nation to ensure policyholders are treated fairly," he says. "This legislation would add to these restrictions."
