Crane barge lifts 512-ton bridge truss in Washington state

A 512-ton truss section of the Hood Canal Bridge in Washington State was raised and removed over the weekend by the largest crane barge on the West Coast. New trusses, which will weigh almost 800 tons each, will connect the bridge's floating pontoons to concrete approach roadways. The new trusses are also wider and will allow for increased capacity on the bridge.
