Transition to ICD-10 could fuel IT growth, survey finds

The shift to ICD-10 coding could help health insurers push forward their IT agendas, including replacing legacy systems for key operations as well as improving areas such as revenue cycle and risk management, according to a survey of 100 participants conducted by The Gantry Group. About 75% of payers with more than 8 million members said they will use the migration to drive IT growth, compared with 36% in a 2008 survey.
