Cardinals manager helps with ballot initiative to eliminate puppy mills in Missouri

St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa, along with veterinarians and some politicians, is helping with efforts to advance a ballot proposal in Missouri that seeks to halt puppy-mill operations in the state. The Puppy Mills Cruelty Prevention Act would require in-state breeders to limit their breeding animals to 50 as well as provide dogs with sufficient food, safe living conditions and veterinary care.
