Report: Annual health care costs for families doubled in 9 years

The 2011 Milliman Medical Index found that annual health care costs for a family of four doubled in less than nine years. The report found health care expenses increased 7.3% from 2010, due to higher costs for hospital inpatient care and pharmacy care, increased utilization of outpatient care, and more spending on physician care.
