Apache: Efficient drilling leads to large cost savings

Apache has saved over $1.3 million in costs per well in Oklahoma and Texas because of drilling efficiency, said Rob Johnston, a regional vice president at the firm. The company's first seven wells in the Tonkawa play produced about 789,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day, while its wells in the Granite Wash formation yielded 4.4 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
