U.S. can't secure chemical weapons in Syria without deploying troops, lawmaker says

The only way for the U.S. to secure chemical weapons in Syria is to put troops on the ground, according to Rep. Mac Thornberry, R-Texas, the second-ranking Republican on the House Armed Services Committee. "My biggest fear is terrorists are going to get their hands on chemical weapons that they're going to turn and use against Europe and us. The United States has very limited options to prevent that from happening," he said in a C-SPAN interview.
