Robotic telepresence brings off-site doctors to patient bedside

Patients say the use of robotic telepresence increases access to physicians, who get a virtual sense of being with patients and families by remotely directing a robot at the bedside. UCLA Medical Center's ICU uses the technology to allow physicians at an off-site location to literally travel with the robot from bed to bed while having a real-time discussion with nurses.
