As the incidence of antibiotic-resistant pathogens rises, health care facilities need to understand how to minimize the threats they pose to staff and patients alike. Precautions include thorough hand washing, clean equipment, gloves and face masks. Education is key, and practitioners should take advantage of available resources, according to Chris Robinson, assistant director of orthotics education at Northwestern University's Prosthetics-Orthotics Center.
