Breast milk is being used more often in NICUs, study finds

Data from three Maternity Practices in Infant Nutrition and Care surveys found that the percentage of hospitals that reported providing breast milk to at least 90% of babies in neonatal intensive care units rose from 21% in 2007 to 31% in 2011. Researchers said the data show that more can be done, including providing more aid for mothers in expressing milk. The findings appear in the journal Pediatrics.
