Brooklyn DA to review murder convictions for misconduct

Prosecutors working for the Brooklyn district attorney, Charles Hynes, said they will review about 50 murder cases for possible wrongful convictions. Prosecutors recently discovered flawed police work by detective Louis Scarcella and his partner that led to the conviction of David Ranta in connection with a 1990 homicide. Ranta was recently ordered released by a judge because of improprieties in the case against him.
