Chain-shattering polymers may help treat skin tumors

A newly developed group of conjugates with the potential to deliver pharmaceuticals to selected tissues shows promise for the treatment of skin tumors and lesions, researchers at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign report. The chain-shattering polymers "can deliver high drug payloads, the release is sharp, and it can be done in a highly controlled fashion," said Chun Li of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
