Commentary: Stock Market Game helps improve financial literacy

Richard Brueckner, chairman of the SIFMA Foundation, explains some of the benefits of the foundation's Stock Market Game. The contest improves students' financial literacy and helps teach them how to be an engaged, responsible participant in the economy, he writes. "Their understanding of and participation in the financial markets teaches them how to harness the value that the financial services industry can provide to them," Brueckner writes. "Not only can they benefit personally from the vibrant economy their participation helps create, they can also tap into it to serve their communities."
