Nontraded REITs draw interest from advisers

As nontraded real estate investment trusts work to broaden their investor base, advisers are taking an interest in them as an alternative to historically low interest rates paid by corporate and government debt. IPA President and CEO Kevin Hogan says nontraded REITs offer diversification and distribution of 6% to 8%. "These nontraded REITs have taken the place of fixed income," Robertson Wealth Management CEO Michael Robertson said.
