Solazyme, AkzoNobel to develop advanced triglyceride oils

Solazyme has developed a technology to control the location of fatty acids on the glycerol backbone of its algal triglyceride oils. This could be used to eliminate trans fat from edible oils and ensure oils used in industrial applications melt at the desired temperature. The company will work with AkzoNobel to develop and promote the oils.
