Study: LDL cholesterol improvements stalled after 2008

Researchers at Quest Diagnostics saw a 13% decline in LDL cholesterol levels among American adults from 2001 through 2008. However, researchers did not observe further improvements after 2008, suggesting that the recession may have stalled progress, although the American Heart Association president questioned that connection. The findings appear in PLoS One.
