Ala. district pilots possible new state assessment

Elementary and middle schools in Madison, Ala., recently administered a possible replacement for the state's existing reading and math standardized assessment. The pilot exam -- ACT Aspire -- is aligned with new state math and reading standards and allows for tracking student progress over time, officials said.
