Average property tax bills reach record high in N.J.

Most New Jersey towns in 2012 followed Gov. Chris Christie's mandate to cap property tax increases at 2%, but the average residential bill still hit a record of $7,885. New Jersey has the highest average property taxes in the U.S., according to the Tax Foundation.
