BlackBerry: Ported Android apps get thumbs down from users

While BlackBerry offers developers the option of quickly porting over their Android applications, users haven't looked upon these apps favorably, according to Alec Saunders, BlackBerry's head of developer relations. "From a commercial perspective, users hate them. Our partners who have ported apps get dinged for them," Saunders says. In related news, BlackBerry is making the long-awaited move of bringing the BBM chat platform to iOS and Android, but considering the competition, that's a move that's three to four years too late, Christina Warren writes.
