Doctors anticipate continued shift toward health system employment

Amid a growing physician shortage, doctors anticipate major shifts in their workforce, according to data from a Cejka Search survey. More than half of responding physicians estimated that fewer than 1 in 10 doctors will be practicing independently in 2030. "I think they're increasingly going to be part of [a] care team ... and I think technology is going to play an increasingly bigger role in their lives," said researcher Lori Schutte at the 4th Annual Becker's Hospital Review Meeting.
