Mont. trucking firm agrees to $83,500 settlement over gas spill

A Billings, Mont., trucking company will pay $83,500 to resolve environmental claims stemming from a 2008 tanker-truck accident that spilled more than 6,000 gallons of gasoline and prompted the evacuation of five families, the Environmental Protection Agency said. Cleanup efforts of more than $5 million have been reported, including the installation of a permanent water-treatment system and residential air-abatement systems. The EPA said Keller Transport has complied with all cleanup directives.
