WHO monitors H7N9 bird flu, SARS-related coronavirus

The World Health Organization has asked health authorities worldwide to track unusual respiratory cases for the presence of the recently identified SARS-related coronavirus. That illness and the H7N9 flu have the potential to develop into pandemics, the WHO says. Meanwhile, the development of an accurate test for H7N9 was reported in the journal Clinical Chemistry.
