Female journalist pioneer Walters announces retirement plan

After decades on American television screens, Barbara Walters is preparing to make her final appearance, she announced on "The View" on Monday. Walters, who was America’s first female network evening newscast co-anchor, the first female host of "Today" and interviewed numerous international political and pop-culture icons over the years, will retire in the summer of 2014.
