Groups urge IRS to reconsider pediatric dental tax credits

NADP, the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry joined 43 other groups in sending a letter to the Treasury secretary asking the IRS to include the cost of purchasing standalone pediatric dental plans in calculating tax credits for health insurance premiums under the Affordable Care Act. The IRS has interpreted the rule in a way that could penalize families that buy standalone pediatric dental plans, the groups say.
