Md. district panel to probe math-exam failure rate

Montgomery County, Md., Superintendent Joshua P. Starr will reconvene a working group to determine why so many students are failing final exams in math courses. This year, 62% of students failed the geometry final, with similarly high rates reported for precalculus, and algebra 1 and 2.
