A federal construction contractor will pay $70,000 in back wages plus interest in a settlement with the Office of Contract Compliance Programs on claims that it discriminated against African-American, Native American, Asian and Hispanic job applicants, an attorney writes. Although the office has yet to provide updated construction-contractor regulations, the agreement demonstrates its increased attention to allegations of pay and hiring discrimination, he writes.
