Tenn. town struggles with sign uniformity rules

Planners in Brentwood, Tenn., are increasingly hearing from businesses looking for exceptions to the city's sign rules, which stress uniformity in a time when signage and logos are increasingly part of unique building designs. "The building itself serves as part of a sign and I think there's a little discomfort in that sort of concept," said Planning Commissioner Neal McBrayer.
