U.S. is about halfway through fully digital health care, ONC chief says

The U.S. is about 50% of the way through digitizing its doctor's offices and hospitals and about 5% of the way through transforming workflows to leverage this IT infrastructure, National HIT Coordinator Dr. Farzad Mostashari said at a recent HIT Policy Committee meeting. Mostashari offered three ways to redesign the health system to realize gains from IT, starting with enhancing patient engagement.
