U.S. says Apple participated in e-book price-fixing scheme

The U.S. is alleging that Apple and publishers were involved in a price-fixing scheme designed to manipulate the value of e-books. Apple disputes the allegations, company spokesman Tom Neumayr said. "The market has been thriving and innovating since Apple's entry and we look forward to going to trial to defend ourselves," Neumayr said in an e-mail. The trial is scheduled to begin in June.
