Approach to art focuses on students' problem-solving skills

One Louisiana school is using a method for teaching fourth-grade students to draw that is derived from the book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain." The "Perceptual Skills" class has students taking their time and analyzing things from all angles, which makes them "great problem-solvers," their instructor said. "It gives them confidence in something that they never thought they could do," she added.
