Commentary: Michigan can't afford anti-gay policies

Trevor Thomas writes about growing up gay in his home state of Michigan, where one state legislator has recently proposed punishing public universities that offer domestic partner benefits to their employees. "Our state desperately needs to attract young people as so many choose to attend schools and find much needed experience out of state. The homophobia isn't helping," Thomas writes.
