Applied Materials may be seeing fewer orders from foundries, Intel

Applied Materials said revenue in its fiscal third quarter would be slightly higher than the prior quarter's $1.97 billion, possibly less than the average of $2.12 billion estimated by analysts, as compiled by Bloomberg. "Intel spending in the first quarter was soft," said Needham's Edwin Mok. "Foundry orders are starting to be pared back."
