To prevent injuries when using lawn mowers, make sure the grass is dry and wear sturdy shoes, said John Drengenberg from Underwriters Labs. "When the grass is wet, you could easily slip and the lawnmower could slide back over your foot," he said. Before maintenance, disconnect the spark plug on gasoline mowers, and unplug electric models, Drengenberg advised.
