Duke Energy tritium leak is contained at S.C. nuclear plant

More than 100 gallons of water laced with tritium leaked from Duke Energy's Catawba nuclear plant in South Carolina, the company said. The tritium levels of the water were below unsafe levels, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission said. The leak was completely contained within the plant, Duke said, adding that it took the necessary measures to ensure that the polluted water doesn't reach groundwater.
