Emanuel announces 2 parts of $1.1B "Enhance Chicago" plan

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has released details of two key projects that are part of the $1.1 billion "Enhance Chicago" plan to stimulate tourism. The first initiative would be construction of a 10,000-seat arena that will house the DePaul Blue Demons basketball team. A 500-room hotel is also part of the development. The second project is the redevelopment of Navy Pier, with the first phase to cost $163 million. The project will feature new spaces for dining and entertainment, expansion of the Children's Museum and a park with a bicycle flyover.
