Federal courts need emergency appropriation, officials say

The federal court system, feeling the pinch of sequestration, requires an infusion in the amount of $73 million for court operations and public defenders, according to a letter sent by the U.S. Judicial Conference. "The judiciary is confronting an unprecedented financial crisis that could seriously compromise the Constitutional mission of the United States courts," according to the letter, which was sent to the Office of Management and Budget.
