Kohl's predicts sales increase after slow Q1

Department-store chain Kohl's experienced a 1% drop in first-quarter sales, but also reported a higher-than-expected profit for the period. "This suggests that sales in the quarter were not so promotion-driven and that they're getting a better handle on their inventory planning," said Brian Yarbrough, an analyst at Edward Jones.
