New Intel CEO promises to catch up in mobile electronics

Brian Krzanich, the newly installed CEO of Intel, acknowledged Thursday that the company was slow to adapt to demand for mobile devices and promised to do better. "We see that we've been a bit slow to move in the [mobile] space," he said at the Intel shareholder meeting in Santa Clara, Calif. "We're well positioned already and the base of assets we have will allow us to grow much faster in the area." His predecessor, Paul Otellini, said not winning the sockets in the iPhone and iPad were Intel's biggest shortcomings during his tenure.
