Tool allows users to create 3D designs by hand out of thin air

3D printers can now be fed data for their creations from 3D hand gestures. The Shape-It-Up design tool developed at Purdue University uses Microsoft Kinect to track and record a user's hand gestures, dispensing with the 2D world of computer keyboard and mouse.
