HHS to poll consumers on health IT perceptions

HHS plans to survey consumers about their views of providers that use electronic health records and their expectations from personal health records in a bid to counter concerns about negative patient experiences in relation to health information technology. The survey will give policymakers a better understanding of how EHR use impacts consumer satisfaction, care coordination and patient-provider communication.
