Legislators support bill to cut iEHR funds for VA, DOD

Congressional lawmakers have expressed their support for a bipartisan bill to cap funding for the integrated EHR project of the Defense Department and Department of Veterans Affairs at 25% of the requested $344 million. Under the bill, the remaining funds for the project would not be released until the agencies show they are carrying out a plan to design and unveil the iEHR. The bill would also require all regional offices of the VA to report progress on their disability claims backlog on a monthly basis.
