SEC isn't writing rule on political spending, White says

Securities and Exchange Commission chief Mary Jo White told the House Financial Services Committee that her agency is not writing a rule that would force public companies to reveal their political spending. "No one has reached a conclusion if there should be a proposed rule going forward," White said, acknowledging that a staff review of the matter is underway.
