St. Jude wins EU nod for device used in coronary stent placements

St. Jude Medical has obtained CE mark approval to market its ILUMIEN OPTIS PCI Optimization System in Europe. The device, which is used to guide surgeons when placing stents in patients with coronary artery disease, works by providing a 360-degree view and real-time 3D reconstruction of the vessel.
