Student visa clause added to immigration bill

After the Boston bombings, an amendment was added to the Senate immigration bill that would require the Department of Homeland Security to migrate data from the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection databases. If the system is not in place within 120 days of the bill's active date, the country would face a delay in issuing visas.
