Study confirms heart benefits of midlife fitness

Although it's well understood that good physical fitness at midlife can add years of healthy living, a new study specifically reveals a reduced risk of heart failure. An eight-year midlife study by the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center among 9,050 participants found that those were who weren't fit earlier in life had a significantly higher rate of heart failure after age 65.
