U.S. plastic surgeons raise funds for burn center in India

Plastic surgeon Shashi Kusuma is leading a U.S. effort to raise funds for a burn center in India to treat abused women and girls. "We have seen so many women -- young women, 20, 30 years old -- completely disfigured because their husbands or whomever took [their anger] out on them," Kusuma said. Kusuma and his colleagues from the American Society of Indian Plastic Surgeons have provided operations annually since 2009 to patients in India with limited access to care.
