Delta pilot arrested with loaded gun at Hartsfield-Jackson

Atlanta police arrested a 32-year-old Delta Air Lines pilot on Saturday after he allegedly tried to pass through security at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport with a loaded handgun in his carry-on bag. A Delta spokeswoman said Matthew Lamar McDaniel, who joined the airline three years ago, was not on duty at the time of his arrest. McDaniel has a concealed carry permit, according to the police report, and the gun was "not artfully concealed" in his bag. McDaniel reportedly told police he had cleaned out his girlfriend's vehicle and forgot that he put the gun in his bag.
