Survey: Broker-dealers will hire agents to boost profits

Broker-dealers and RIA firms plan to hire more advisers and dealers in an effort to boost profitability this year, according to a survey by Fidelity Investments. Just 2% of respondents said they would try to boost profitability by cutting costs, down from 27% a year ago. The poll found that 86% of respondents plan to boost hiring and also focus on existing client relationships.
